Through collaboration with over 50 best of breed hardware manufacturers and software providers to exhibit fully integrated display solutions, the NEC Showcase once again delivered a unique and compelling formula in what is now acclaimed as ‘THE must-attend AV and Digital Signage event of the year in the UK.’

“This was our biggest NEC Showcase yet, welcoming over 20% more visitors compared to last year, nearly half of whom were end users which reflects our dedication to create customer focused solutions,” says Simon Jackson, VP NEC Display Solutions. “They can really get a feel for how the solution can be applied to their needs and speak directly to the specialists who can make it a reality.”

By complementing NEC’s expertise in display technology with that of their Solutions Partners, NEC can create a solution centred on customer needs. “We have received excellent feedback regarding the diversity of solutions,” says Jackson. “In some cases up to 6 different companies are collaborating together to create an end-to-end solution.” With 9 ‘zones’ exhibiting display solutions dedicated to applications in retail, education, transport, healthcare, leisure, corporate, media and digital out-of-home, NEC demonstrates its commitment to a wide range of vertical markets.

Tony Davies, Director at VisioSign UK Ltd, who collaborated in 5 separate solutions in the corporate communication zone, was delighted with the success of the show. “We had a fantastic day at the NEC Showcase and saw a great mix of trade visitors and end users with solid leads which we were able to follow up on straight away after the show. The show was well organised and used a great venue, we look forward to next year!”

Through technology briefings, tours and live demonstrations the NEC Showcase offered visitors an opportunity to gain deeper insight and knowledge, supported by a ‘Q&A’ forum and ‘thought leadership’ summit organised by The DailyDOOH. Firmly established as one of the largest pro AV events in the UK and applauded by Adrian Cotterill, Editor-in-Chief of the DailyDOOH as ‘what, has quite simply become, THE must-attend AV and Digital Signage event of the year in the UK’, the NEC Showcase also offers an excellent networking opportunity. “Over 150 show-goers joined us for a drink afterwards turning an educational day into a social one,” says Jackson.

A highlight of the NEC Showcase was a dance performance which entertained visitors whilst being filmed on a 5K Red Epic camera, edited and then rendered to 4K for playback on a 4K videowall and NEC’s new 4K laser projector. “The dancers helped to add a little bit of theatre whilst educating at the same time” comments Jackson.
