Almost 300 partners from the Scala digital signage ecosystem gathered for the biennial International Partner Conference at the end of September. Integrators and agencies convened on September 25 and 26 in a former church in the heart of Amsterdam to share and learn.
The partner conference was organised for the first time by the global market manager Harry Horn and his Dutch team – and the European touch was clearly good for the event. Not only the location, but also the side programme attracted partners from as far afield as Canada and South Africa to the ISE capital.
With a broad mix of talks by Scala’s management (Tom Nix, Frank Larsen and others), integrators like Dobit, QYN and MuSe Content, and customers such as Siemens, Scala omni-channel projects were analysed and future features presented.
Scala can look back on a very successful 2012 in digital signage. More than 1,200 new Scala customers were acquired. The most successful partner was Norway’s Rikstoto, which installed more than 4,000 players at over 1,800 locations in one project.
The International Scala Conference is probably the largest in-house fair of a digital signage software vendor. Scala manages to bring together the most relevant players in its own ecosystem every two years. Apart from product new and workshops, the main reason for taking part is the opportunity for partners to network. A living ecosystem depends on a vibrant integrator/user community.
