General accepted industry standards enable emerging industries to establish their segment in the existing market. Digital Signage and Digital out of Home have long strived for acceptance. In the last two years OVAB Europe has managed to develop minimum standards for Digital-Out-of-Home as well as Digital Signage in multiple working groups and meetings.

In October 2012 OVAB Europe could finally present the final draft of EMEA Standards to the membership body and the public. The OVAB Standards are now in effect January 1st 2013 and are fully supported by major players in the European industry.

Generally Standards

  • reflect the minimum common base therefore defining only minimum requirements,
  • need to be adapted to local requirements (i.e. guaranteed availability, connectivity etc),
  • are continuously developed – OVAB Europe plans to update the Standards annually
